DR. SATYANANDA KAR

Prof. Kar received his master's degree in Physics from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and PhD in experimental plasma from Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar. His PhD thesis was based on the study of excitation and propagation of electrostatic plasma waves.  At Nagoya University, Japan as a Research Fellow, he has worked on microwave sheath-voltage combination plasma. Dr. Kar has received the DAIKO Foundation Research Fellowship in 2014 and VBL Research Fellowship in 2016 from Nagoya University. Since October 2016, he has joined as Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy Science and Engineering (formerly Centre for Energy Studies), IIT Delhi. His present research of interests is atmospheric pressure cold plasma (for biomedical applications, wastewater treatment, etc.), thermal plasma (waste to energy), microwave plasma sources, waves in plasma, plasma Diagnostics, etc.
